The OFF-Switch for Period Cramps

I’m always on Constant pills for my period. I normally take 3+ Ibuprofen to relieve the unbearable pain.

Sometimes, this pain killer doesn’t ease the pain and I was advised by a friend to try birth control pills. I tried this for a while but I started having hormonal imbalance as a side effect from the birth control pills.

My gynecologist advised I stopped the pills because its already resulting in a thinner endometrial linings which may lead to difficulty in getting pregnant.

Haha, which kind wahala be this, Is it a crime to be a woman?

I am still single, I am not married yet not to talk of having kids.

Thats when I realized I have to stop using this short term solutions that may result in lifelong regrets. I don’t want to have any such regrets

Fortunately I was on a call with one of my colleague who now works in the United Kingdom. I was supposed to send her a a file she needed the previous day but I couldn’t send it becasue I was totally unproductive the previous day. The pain rendered my day a waste cause I couldn’t get myself to focus on any task.

She asked why I didn’t send the file and I explained, that when she told me about this little magic, the menstrual heating pad. She told me how she got to know about it in the hospital she works and how the doctors recommends it for a lot of women.

I have ensured its fully charged so I just put on the pad and switch it on when the pain start coming gradually.

To my surprise, this pad gets heated up on less than 30 secs, and it gets really hot that I have to put it on the lowest heat level.

The relieve I felt ehn, I swear have never felt such ease while on my period in my life. Since I started menstruating as a young lady, those days are always full of pains and tears. When I was in school I used to miss classes for almost a week due to the pain. I cannot go and be embarrasing myself on campus so I prefer to stay home and cry in peace.

But this, this tiny device has turned everything around. And for the very first time in years, I can smile while on my period. It also has a vibrating massage mode that also helps soothes the pain. I switch the pad interchangeably from my lower abdomen to my back and it works pretty well for my back pain too.

When the battery went off in the evening, I almost died, but thank God I had a power bank, I just plugged it in and charge it up real fast. I called my friend and ask her if she can  help me order another one so I can use interchangeably when one’s battery is low. I never wanted to experience my period without this heating pad ever again.

A lot of women suffer every month without knowing there is a solution out there. They experience excruciating pain and some even transfer agresion to their loved ones (partners, friends, and kids). This has to stop.
